Finally caught up with FMA (just DLed 44, but haven't watched it yet).

Poor raane asked some questions and no one said anything. Here's what she said:

I watched 41 and 42 fairly recently, and am amazed at how much happened in such a short space of time. My thoughts are on the Stone--is it real, or not? Logically, it doesn't make any sense. The Stone is supposed to be an infinite source, but no matter how they do it, how many lives they pump into it, it's still made from finite materials. That implies, to me, that the one that is currently residing in Al's body isn't the real one, it's just a large unfinished one. It also backs up Pride's statement: "It can't fall into human hands, so it doesn't exist."

But...I don't want to believe it. I want Al to have a body again. T.T The lack of the equivalent trade spiel in the beginning of the episode leads me to believe that maybe, somehow, they'll overcome it. *Hopes* Any thoughts?

I agree with the observation about how the stone is made despite its "infinite" powers. If it does turn out to be the real one (and they're making such a big f'n deal over it) perhaps it has something to do with souls being immaterial? Perhaps a soul is an infinite sourse [of power]. The fact that you have to use humans and not cute little puppies makes it seem like the Philo's Stone is all about cheating the Law of Conservation, and suddenly it's not science anymore but magik.

I wasn't paying that much attn. Pride said that? When why are they getting humans to try to make it? Unless he's talking about humans physically touching it. Or maybe he was saying that humans may be able to create it or fuel it, but it can't be manipulated by humans.

Or maybe the translators are getting sloppy.

Anyways, Mr. Elric has appeared. Things should start getting angsty now. :b

on spoilers [May. 16th, 2004|01:34 am]

I know we all want to be sensitive about spoilers here; I mean, if I had gone to AniBos and heard what I did without seeing a certain episode first, it would have ruined the whole series for me. The problem is, there's no lj-cut for replies. So may I suggest that when replying with a spoiler we do something like this?

This is just a test. If this had been a real spoiler, everyone would be trying to kill me right now, and we'd end up on fandom wank again. This is only a test.

Because spoilers make chibi Emily-chan cry.

First of all, welcome~! Second of all, a semi-substantial post regarding the speculation I've been hearing here and there, so I thought it appropriate to discuss it here. ^__^

Any ideas or speculation to who might Ed and Al's father be? Mayhaps spoilers for the sins, although not too muchCollapse )

Anyway, enough of my babble. What are you own theories and ideas about the mysterious, currently faceless, father figure of the series?

[PS, apologizes to any incoherentness or overall suckiness of this. Like Hisso said in an earlier comment, i - neither of us - can discuss FMA very well. My fingers just won't type. Strangeness. @_@]

As requested by the mods, I shall start this community off. So, come hither children~

It's best that you don't click here if you don't want to be spoiled, of course, if you are spoiler-happy or have watched the entire FMA episodes up to the current one, then please do so.Collapse )

Thus, to start off this community, is there any rebuttals to this theory? Or any other evidence that may support this theory?

I apologize to those that have not seen up to ep. 31 but the mods are currently knocked out in their beds and I really have no idea on a general topic to discuss. There's no need to reiterate this but please stick to the rules, 'mmmkay?

- Shiru
